Bogdanov discussed the Russian concept of security in the Persian Gulf with the foreign Minister of Oman

Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov was received by Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yousuf bin Alawi, as well as held another round of consultations with  Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman  Badr Al Busaidi.

 

 


The diplomats discussed the further steady development of the range of traditionally friendly Russian-Omani relations, including maintaining regular political dialogue, expansion of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

 

 


There was also an exchange of views on key aspects of regional issues, focusing on the situation in Yemen and Syria, the prospects for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

 


The parties noted the special importance of the Russian concept of collective security in the Persian Gulf, aimed at consolidating efforts to jointly respond to emerging challenges and threats in this strategically important area of the world.
