Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov held telephone talks with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation Ihab Nasr. The diplomats discussed the situation in Libya, Syria, as well as the Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
"The officials held an in-depth discussion on current regional developments, primarily Libya, Syria and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. They pointed out the importance of the international community joining forces to prevent the escalation of tensions in the Middle East and North Africa," the message of the Russian MFA reads.
The parties also talked about strengthening the multifaceted Russian-Egyptian cooperation, including at international venues.
