Bogdanov discussed the situation in Libya with the Turkish Ambassador

Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the situation in and around Libya with Turkish Ambassador to Moscow Mehmet Samsar, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.


"During the conversation, the parties  exchanged views on the current situation in and around Libya, with an emphasis on the need for an early de - escalation of violence and the lack of alternative to a political settlement of the Libyan crisis in accordance with the decisions of the Berlin international conference and UN Security Council resolution 2510," the message of the Ministry reads.


In Libya, the conflict continues between the Government of National Accord (GNA) of Fayez Sarraj, which controls Tripoli and territories in the West of the country and is supported by Turkey, and the Libyan National Army under the command of Khalifa Haftar, whose political support is provided by Egypt.
