Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a meeting with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ihab Nasr at the latter’s request.
During the talk, the officials discussed developments in the Middle East and Northern Africa, including in the context of the latest events in northeastern Syria.
At the same time, they noted the importance of continued coordination between Moscow and Cairo with a view to settling regional crises by political and diplomatic means.
They also touched upon a number of practical issues related to the preparations for the Russia-Africa summit in Sochi on October 24, 2019.
