Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, met with Lebanon’s Ambassador to Moscow, Shawki Bou Nassar, to discuss the situation in and around Lebanon, as well as bilateral relations, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"During the meeting, both sides reviewed current issues related to the steady development of traditionally friendly Russian-Lebanese relations, including maintaining a regular political dialogue," the ministry noted.
"The situation in Lebanon and the surrounding region was also discussed. The Russian side reaffirmed its unwavering support for Lebanon’s unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty," the statement added.
The meeting was held at the request of the Lebanese diplomat.
