During his working visit to Doha, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed topical issues related to the development of multidimensional Russia-Qatar relations, including the schedule of respective contacts and events. At the same time, it was acknowledged that extending the political dialogue, building up trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian links serves the long-term interests of the two countries, benefits peace building and stability in the Middle East.
The parties also had an in-depth exchange of opinions on the current developments taking place in Syria, Yemen, Libya, as well as on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, and in the Horn of Africa, with a focus on resolving the persisting conflicts and crises by political means.
