Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Russia Mehmet Samsar at the latter's request.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed the situation in the Middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on the Syrian, Libyan and Palestinian issues.
Previously, Samsar was also received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin. The main topic of discussion was issues that are on the agenda of the UN Security Council, including the Syria settlement process, in particular, the "situation on the ground" in Syria, as well as efforts to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Syrians in need throughout the country.
