Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov had a telephone conversation with President of the Progressive Socialist Party of Lebanon Walid Jumblatt.
During the conversation, which was initiated by the Lebanese side, the parties discussed socioeconomic developments in Lebanon, including measures to counteract the spread of the coronavirus infection.
"The Russian side reaffirmed its commitment to further developing the traditionally friendly relations with Lebanon and its focus on the continuation of maintaining active contacts with the entire spectrum of socio-political forces of this country in the interest of achieving intra-Lebanese consent and ensuring unity and sovereignty of Lebanon," the message of the Russian MFA reads, in particular.
