Today, at the initiative of the Palestinian side, Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister, had a telephone conversation with Saeb Erekat, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
During the conversation, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the current situation in the West Bank and the Gaza strip, including in the context of measures taken by the Palestinian leadership to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
"During the exchange of views on the current Middle East issues, the Russian side confirmed its constant readiness to continue to promote the Palestinian-Israeli settlement on a well-known international legal basis, both in bilateral formats and within the framework of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators", the message reads.
