Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held talks with Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, the Director of Sudan's General Intelligence Service, to discuss the current military and political situation in Sudan and its surrounding areas.
Mufaddal, who is in Russia to attend the XII International Meeting of High Representatives in Charge of Security Issues, initiated the meeting.
"During the discussion, they addressed various issues regarding the further development of the longstanding friendly ties between Russia and Sudan, especially in light of the evolving military and political situation in Sudan and its surroundings," stated the Russian foreign ministry.
