Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received George Shaaban, Personal Representative of Lebanese Acting Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the current political and socioeconomic situation in Lebanon. Bogdanov, at the same time, confirmed Russia’s principled support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and domestic political stability and also expressed hope for the success of the efforts being taken by the Lebanese leaders to ensure the soonest settlement.
