German government held an international meeting on Libya at the level of senior officials. The Russian side was presented by Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov.
Representatives of the USA, France, Great Britain, Italy, Egypt, UAE, Turkey, the League of Arab States and the European Union also took part in the discussion.
The main report was made by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya Ghassan Salame, who presented assessments and views on the development of the military-political and humanitarian situation in Libya.
The parties exchanged views with a focus on elaborating proposals for an early political settlement of the Libyan crisis.
The next meeting on Libya in the "Berlin format" is scheduled for October this year.
