Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday that he plans to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in the near future.
"The Turkish and Syrian defense ministers met in Moscow yesterday. I plan to hold talks with [Sergey] Lavrov in the near future," the Turkish foreign minister told reporters.
On December 28, the Turkish and Syrian defense ministers met in Moscow for the first time in 11 years. The meeting was held in a trilateral format and was attended by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. At the end of the meeting, it was decided to continue contacts in this format.
