Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu said the United States should lift sanctions instead of threatening Saudi Arabia in order to reduce oil prices. He said this on Friday during a speech in Mersin province, broadcast on his Twitter page.
"We see the country (US - TASS) standing up and threatening Saudi Arabia. Such bullying is wrong. Cancel these sanctions if you want prices to go down. You cannot solve the problem by threatening only one country (Saudi Arabia - TASS)," underlined the head of the Turkish MFA.
OPEC + agreement participant-countries at the meeting in Vienna on October 5 agreed to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day starting from November and prolonged the deal till the end of 2023. The White House said the OPEC+ decision demonstrates that Saudi Arabia is aligning its energy policy with Russia. US President Joe Biden spoke in favor of the need to review the relationship between Washington and Riyadh.
