Chairman of GSV "Russia - Islamic World" visited Al-Marjani Mosque in Kazan

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who also heads the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World", together with acting head of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov and acting governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin, visited the Al-Marjani Mosque in Kazan -  historically significant Muslim temple not for Tatars but for all Russian Islam too.

The main imam (or imam-khatib) of the mosque Mansur Jalyaletdin told the guests about the history of the temple, its significance for the Muslim community of the country, and the role of outstanding tatar enlightener and theologian Shihabeddin Marjani.

After visiting the temple, Rustam Minnikhanov, Igor Babushkin and Batu Hasikov attended a special reception organized by the Council of Elders of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan on the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Adha.

Igor Babushkin and Batu Khasikov arrived in Tatarstan on a working visit. According to the updated concept of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World", Russian regional leaders are considered as one of the connecting links between Russia and countries of the Islamic world.
