International terrorist organizations are using digital technologies to finance their activities, the head of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, Colonel-General of police Andrey Novikov, said speaking at the XIII Meeting of the Heads (Chiefs of Staff) of the National Anti-Terrorism Centers of the CIS Member-States in Moscow.
"There has been a digital transformation of mechanisms and channels for financing terrorism. The use of funds received from online casinos as sources of income by terrorists, theft of money through fake online stores and duplicate sites, phishing and pharming attacks, unauthorized access to banking resources and cryptocurrency exchanges, directs the vector of the fight against the financing of terrorism to the virtual environment, " he stated, in particular.
According to Novikov, terror technologies have also been significantly enriched by the use of modern robotics, primarily unmanned aerial vehicles.
