CIS Executive Committee Hopes for Unified Support for Russia's Chairmanship

29 March

CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev, on behalf of the organization's executive committee, expressed his hope that the Commonwealth countries will support Russia as the chair of the organization and collaborate in the implementation of the planned activities.

"The CIS executive committee is very optimistic that through collective efforts, we will support Russia and ensure the successful implementation of its chairmanship program," he told reporters following a meeting of the CIS Economic Council.

Lebedev emphasized that the program of events planned by Russia for its chairmanship is extensive and significant. Russia is set to chair the CIS in 2024, and on October 13, 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the chairmanship program as "very rich," encompassing approximately 150 events.
