Collective prayers were canceled in the main mosques of Mecca and Medina

The two main Muslim shrines in the world – al-Masjid al-Ḥarām and the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina – temporarily suspended the holding of collective prayer.


Earlier, the Council of Saudi theologians temporarily suspended the holding of collective prayer meetings in all mosques in the country, with the exception of the two main mosques in Mecca and Medina.


"The collective performance of prayer in the two Holy mosques in Mecca and Medina, including in the courtyards of these mosques, is temporarily suspended".


The total number of people infected with the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, according to the latest data, reached 274 people.
