A meeting of the Joint Commission on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program (JCPOA) will be held on April 6 at the level of political directors in Vienna in a face-to-face format, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, told RIA Novosti on Friday.

"It has been agreed that there will be a meeting at the level of political directors in a face-to-face format in Vienna on Tuesday. They will instruct the two groups on lifting sanctions and nuclear issues - what needs to be done in practical terms in order to restore full implementation of the JCPOA by all parties," Ulyanov said.

When asked whether the meeting would tightly discuss a US return to the deal, Ulyanov said: "As a matter of fact, yes."
"That is, there will be the expert substantive study of the issue," he clarified.

According to the diplomat, the most important thing is that they are trying to move from mere words to something concrete, which in itself is positive.

"The expectation is that there will be a substantive study of the ways to fully restore the fulfillment of the JCPOA, what exactly must be done to achieve this goal. It's just a question of what steps should be taken by all parties, especially Iran and Washington, for the deal to be fully restored," the permanent representative concluded.
