Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan Opens in Kazan

The Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Kazan was inaugurated in a ceremony reported by the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.

 

"On February 21, the opening ceremony of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan was held in Kazan. The establishment of this diplomatic mission coincided with the working visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Tatarstan from February 20 to 21," the statement read.

 

The ceremony was attended by Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Muratbek Azymbakiev, the head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration, and representatives from the Russian side.

 

The consular district encompasses territories including the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Mordovia, the Udmurt Republic, the Chuvash Republic, and the Ulyanovsk region.

 

President Zhaparov's visit to Kazan was at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. The leaders are scheduled to meet in the capital of Tatarstan on the same day.
