Coronavirus pandemic to be discussed at emergency G20 summit

Saudi Arabia, which holds the G20 presidency this year, intends to hold a unification summit on the coronavirus situation. As it became known after a telephone conversation between Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the event will be held online.


"The Prime Minister proposed to convene an urgent and emergency summit in the virtual format of the G20 leaders to assess the situation and develop a new road map. The Saudi leader agreed to this proposal and will convene the G20 summit in the coming days", the Spanish government said in a statement.


More than 164 thousand people in more than 150 countries have been infected with the coronavirus in the world, and more than 6.4 thousand died.
