23 August 2022

The Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan considers the statements of Ukrainian Ambassador to the republic Petro Vrublevsky about Russians inadmissible, the statement of the council reads.

The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation earlier informed that a video was published in social networks in which a man, who is, according to preliminary data, Vrublevsky, said that the Ukrainian regime is trying to kill as many Russians as possible. The agency said it would give a legal assessment of the diplomat's words.

"We, the members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, strongly condemn and consider inadmissible the statements of the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Petro Vrublevsky in an interview with a Kazakhstani blogger. In our country, where peace and unity are the main principles of state policy and public consolidation, such statements are inadmissible and unacceptable, no matter who makes them," reads the statement.

It also notes that diplomacy should serve the ideals of peace and cooperation, and not for inciting hatred and hostility. "For the united multi-ethnic people of Kazakhstan the principles of friendship, mutual assistance and peace are inviolable. They helped us to avoid inter-ethnic conflicts even in the most difficult years of our independence and to preserve the integrity of our country and our people," the assembly pointed out.

"For us the language of enmity is alien, the propaganda of ethnic hatred in any manifestation is unacceptable and incomprehensible. We appeal to all the people of Kazakhstan not to give in to the provocations sowing enmity and distrust, and, on the contrary, to cherish and strengthen peace in the country and the unity of the nation for the sake of the present and the future of our children," the appeal underlines.

The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is a consultative and advisory body under the president of the republic. Its main tasks are to implement state national policy, to ensure socio-political stability in Kazakhstan and to increase the efficiency of cooperation between state and civil society institutions in the sphere of interethnic relations. The Assembly is chaired by the head of the republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He is also a member of its council.
