Creation of SCO currency to be discussed in Ufa during International Business Week

International Business Week will take place in Ufa on December 14-16. It will address the issues of international and interregional cooperation, including the creation of the SCO currency and prospects for the introduction of Islamic banking, the press service of the forum said.


" Under the aegis of the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the participants of International Business Week will discuss the issue of establishing currency of the SCO countries as well as perspectives of a pilot project implementation of Islamic banking. Bashkortostan will take part in the project along with three more regions", Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan Andrei Nazarov said.


Moreover, within the framework of International Business Week major corporations, patrons, and philanthropists implementing humanitarian programs to support Lugansk and Donetsk people's republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions and those assisting participants of the special military operation will hold a reception.


Forum business program


More than 50 business events will be held on the forum's fields, during which over 500 speakers from 20 countries will address the audience. The total number of participants will be more than three thousand people, among them are the representatives of governmental bodies, business communities and experts. Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, Prime Minister of the region Andrei Nazarov, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry and official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Sector Konstantin Mikhailik, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Saint Petersburg Investment Bank" Roman Pilipenko, Executive Secretary of the SCO Business Council Sergey Kanavsky, President of the Center for Strategic Research Vladislav Onishchenko and others will participate in the work of International Business Week. Separate round tables will be held with representatives of delegations from Turkey, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.


"Thanks to the joint work with enterprises, we have very quickly found new foreign partners, rebuilt logistics chains. The world is much bigger than those states that have imposed sanctions and are trying to counteract us. Next to us, there are partners from fraternal states that have made good progress on many fronts. For example, the intensity of our contacts with the leadership and industrial enterprises of Belarus have increased manifold," the press service quotes the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, as saying.


It is planned to sign 30 agreements during the forum, 25 of which are investment agreements. Thus, more than 1.4 thousand new workplaces will be created with the help of these agreements. Particularly, agreements are planned to be signed with LLC "Bashkir Meat Company" for 25 billion rubles to build an agricultural park, and with LLC "Fiber Nutrish" - for a 4.5 billion rubles project to produce fiber and pectin substances on the territory of the "Alga" SEZ. Besides, the region's agreement with Blagoveshchensk house-building plant for the amount of 7.8 billion rubles is planned.
