CSTO countries held consultations on arms control

Consultations of the CSTO member states on topical issues of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation were held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Russian Federation.


According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, there was a "fruitful and detailed discussion of topical issues and prospects for the development of the situation in the field of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation".


The participants compared approaches to specific aspects of reducing and limiting nuclear-missile weapons, compliance with and strengthening existing international treaties and agreements in the field of arms control.


The CSTO confirmed its readiness to continue collective efforts to build an international security system, restore trust and mutual respect in interstate relations in the interests of lasting peace and strengthening international security.
