A meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has begun in Almaty, as reported by a TASS correspondent on-site. Armenia is absent from the meeting.
Yuri Shuvalov, a representative of the CSTO Secretariat, informed TASS that although Armenia is not participating in the Council meeting, it has no objections to decisions being made in Almaty in a limited format.
The event, held under Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the CSTO, will address challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO's collective security regions, as well as issues concerning the development of the Organization's military capabilities.
