CSTO Defense Ministers to Discuss Regional Challenges and Threats in Almaty on May 30-31

The Council of Defense Ministers from the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will convene in Almaty on May 30-31 to discuss regional challenges and threats. This information was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

 

"The event is held within the framework of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the CSTO. Its participants will discuss challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO collective security regions and issues of development of the military component of the organization," the Defense Ministry stated.

 

Additionally, the Ministry reported that Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin, who arrived in Kazakhstan on Tuesday, will hold talks with Kazakhstan's Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov in Astana on Wednesday. The discussions will focus on issues of bilateral cooperation.
