CSTO military exercises will be held in Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

  In 2019, the countries participating in the Collective Security Treaty Organization will hold six joint military exercises. They will pass on the territory of Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

 

 


Acting Secretary General of the CSTO Valery Semerikov has announced today at a meeting of the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO Member States in Bishkek.

 

 


“In 2019, within the framework of the CSTO, six joint military exercises will be held. Three of them are on the territory of Russia, two are in Tajikistan and one is in Kyrgyzstan”, he claimed.

 

 


According to Semerikov, at the moment the CSTO countries are forced to face a number of security threats. In particular, this is the situation in Afghanistan, the rapprochement and cooperation of Georgia with NATO and the activity of NATO in the East European direction.
