Allies within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will not remain indifferent if Russia requests assistance following the terror attacks in Dagestan. This was stated by CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov in an interview with TASS.
"At present, the CSTO Secretariat has not received any requests for assistance from the Russian Federation. Russia has its own capabilities and experience to effectively address such issues. The potential for bilateral interagency cooperation is also significant. However, I am confident that should Russia seek help, the allies will not stand aside," noted Tasmagambetov.
According to Tasmagambetov, the CSTO Secretariat was deeply pained by the tragic events in Makhachkala and Derbent. "We strongly condemn the actions of the terrorists and any attempts to incite interreligious discord. There is no justification for such crimes," he emphasized.
