CSTO Secretary-General meets Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and Secretary of Security Council

At the meetings in Kazakhstan, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas, Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Assistant to the President, Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov discussed preparations for the upcoming meetings of statutory bodies of CSTO, scheduled for November in Armenia, the organization's spokesman Vladimir Zaynetdinov told TASS on Monday.


"During the meetings held, preparations for the upcoming meetings of the organization's statutory bodies, scheduled in November in Armenia, were the focus of attention. The sides also discussed the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility with a focus on the situation in the Central Asian region," he pointed out.


Meeting with the president of Kazakhstan


President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Secretary-General Stanislav Zas discussed the situation in the organization's area of responsibility, including the situation in Central Asia.


"During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Stanislav Zas discussed in detail the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, including special attention to the situation in the Central Asian region," the spokesman noted.


Tokayev awarded the CSTO secretary-general the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship - TASS), II degree for his merits in strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation between peoples, Zaynetdinov added.


Zas is in Astana on a working visit. Earlier on Monday, he met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the republic Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Assistant to the President, Secretary of Kazakhstan's Security Council Gizat Nurdauletov.
