20 June 2023

The idea that the CSTO countries need to be united and together meet the challenges is very relevant, given the current geopolitical situation in the world. This was stated by CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov at the meeting of heads of delegations, participating in the CSTO Ministerial Council with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

He drew attention to the Belarusian leader's words that the geopolitical situation in the world keeps getting more complicated. "It certainly cannot but affect the situation in our states. Therefore, the idea that in this difficult time we need to be together and, of course, to meet the challenges of time in a coordinated manner, is very relevant," said Tasmagambetov.

"And in this regard, in my opinion, the main priority of the Belarusian presidency is the unity within our organization," he added.

The CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan.
