The CSTO Collective Security Council will additionally review the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in late November, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich told reporters following Friday's extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
"There is a certain vision for the next few weeks, how this issue will be further considered. As far as we know, there will be a trilateral meeting of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in the next few days. The parties have come to an understanding that the issue will be further considered at the next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, scheduled for late November," BelTA agency quotes the deputy head of the Belarusian MFA.
According to Ambrazevich, during today's session "the situation on monitoring mission, which was led by the CSTO secretary-general, and which operated on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, was discussed very seriously and openly." "The most important thing is that the sides were able to discuss our organization's perspective response to these issues," the deputy foreign minister of Belarus said.
Press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said earlier that the meeting was held ahead of the trilateral summit of the Russian president with the prime minister of Armenia and the leader of Azerbaijan. Pashinyan said such talks are scheduled for October 31 in Sochi.
An extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council was initiated by Armenia to discuss the consequences of military action with Azerbaijan on September 13-14.
