The next meeting in Astana format on the Syrian settlement will be held in October this year, says the statement of Russia, Iran and Turkey following the thirteenth round of inter-Syrian talks concluded today in Nur-Sultan.
"Iran, Russia and Turkey as the guarantors of the Astana process on Syria decided to hold the next international meeting on Syria in the Astana format in Nur-Sultan in October 2019," the document says.
The 13th inter-Syria meeting was held in the Kazakh capital on August 1-2. This year, for the first time, representatives of Iraq and Lebanon took part in the event as observers.
