Delegation of Russian Muslims arrived in Syria

A delegation of the Interreligious Working Group for Humanitarian Aid to the Syrian Population of the Presidential Council for Coordination with Religious Organizations is on a working visit to Syria.

 

The delegation includes representatives of the Muslim community of the country, including a member of the Group of Strategic Vision  "Russia-Islamic World", Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin, Mufti of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia Albir hazrat Krganov, as well as Mufti of Adygea and Krasnodar region Askarbiy Kardanov, Secretary of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate father Stefan, Executive Secretary of Presidential Council for Coordination with Religious Organisations  Sergey Melnikov, etc.

 

Today, a secondary school, restored with the assistance of Russian religious organizations will be opened in the Syrian Barzeh.

 

The five-story school for 1,000 pupils is the first facility in the project to restore Syria's war-damaged social infrastructure.

 

The Interreligious Working Group for Humanitarian Aid to the Syrian Population of the presidential Council for Coordination with Religious Organizations, which includes Christian and Muslim communities of Russia, was established in April 2017. To date, the group has already carried out a number of actions to deliver humanitarian aid to Syria.
