After the IX International Conference of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia - Islamic World”, Deputy Director of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education Aleksey Petrov told reporters about the factors due to which the level of Muslim culture in Russia reaches certain heights and continues to develop. The conference on the topic “Russia - Islamic World: Fair Multipolar World Order and Secure Development” was held on May 16, 2024, in Kazan as part of the economic summit “KazanForum 2024”.
“ Over the past three years, the level of Islamic culture in Russia has grown to an international level due to the qualitative development of scientific literature publishing houses, and active educational activities are also taking place. Our muftis, leaders of the ummah take part in international conferences and represent Russia and Muslim ideology, and traditional Islamic culture, which is inherent in our country”, - noted Aleksey Petrov.
Speaking about relations between Russia and the Islamic world, the deputy director of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture drew attention to how the ongoing forum demonstrates the attention of Islamic countries and states to the opinion of Russia, as well as their readiness to cooperate.
“A huge number of representatives, and at a very high level, from ministers, deputy prime ministers and prime ministers of states, as well as grand muftis, visit Russia with pleasure. Tatarstan and Kazan are one of the central parts of our country for the promotion of Islamic culture, science and education, and are probably one of the flagships in this direction”, - concluded Aleksey Petrov.
The Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education was formed by centralized Muslim religious organizations with the assistance of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Internal Policy. The Foundation promotes the implementation of projects to protect the spiritual sovereignty of the Muslim community in Russia, to develop a new socialization of Muslims and helps to revive the domestic Muslim theological school.
The Foundation provides support for activities aimed at developing Islamic culture, science and education, preserving the traditional spiritual and moral values of the Muslim peoples of Russia, raising children and youth, preventing Islamophobia, and countering the propaganda of extremism and terrorism.
