At Monday's meeting with Andrew Schoefer, the US co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, and Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko discussed steps to implement the agreements reached in Moscow between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

"During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Possible steps aimed at the implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Moscow on October 10 were considered," the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

The sides also confirmed interest in the continuation of collective efforts aimed at reducing tension taking into account provisions of the joint statement of presidents of Russia, USA and France dated October 1.

The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh escalated on September 27, and battles began on the line of contact. Azerbaijan and Armenia introduced martial law and announced mobilization. The sides report the killed and wounded, including civilians.

As a result of consultations held in Moscow on the initiative of the Russian side, Baku and Yerevan agreed on a ceasefire from 12:00 local time (11:00 Moscow time) on October 10 for humanitarian purposes to exchange prisoners and bodies. However, both sides blame each other for not implementing the reached agreement.
