Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia discussed with US diplomats the situation in Libya

Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on Monday at a meeting with US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland discussed topical issues of the political settlement in Libya.

 

" During a throughout discussion the current situation in and around Libya was discussed with an emphasis on the need for the Libyan parties to implement an agreement on the cessation of hostilities and the task of political settlement of the Libyan crisis in accordance with the decision of the Berlin International Conference and UN Security Council resolution 2510," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.


The Foreign Ministry pointed out that the Russian side "stressed the importance of ensuring the inclusive nature of the inter-Libyan dialogue in the interests of ensuring the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Libya".


The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan.
