As part of a working visit to Saudi Arabia, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on a Syrian settlement, Alexander Lavrentyev, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin have held consultations with the leadership of the Syrian negotiating Сommittee headed by Nasser al-Hariri.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the parties of the two countries have discussed in detail the situation in and around Syria and the prospects for resolving the Syrian crisis in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 2254.
Special attention according to this situation, was paid to the issue of an early formation of the Constitutional Committee as a fundamental stage in the promoting of the political process supported by the UN.
