Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has visited Khartoum, where he has met with the Chairman of the Transitional Military Council of the Republic of Sudan Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan.
According to the Foreign Ministry website, during the conversation the Sudanese side stated that, despite the change of power in Sudan, the nature of Russian-Sudanese relations based on long-term traditions of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation remains unchanged and is considered strategic in Khartoum.
Bogdanov, in turn, reaffirmed respect for the fundamental principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states and welcomed the continuity of the independent foreign policy of the Sudan and the commitment of its new leadership to previously concluded international agreements and treaties.
