Deputy Secretary-General: OIC values GSV role in strengthening interreligious interaction

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation values the role of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" in strengthening interreligious interaction and mutual respect. The statement was made by Deputy Secretary-General of the OIC Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo, speaking at the meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" themed "Russia - Islamic World: traditional spiritual and moral values as a basis for interreligious cooperation." The event took place in the Kazan Town Hall as part of the XIV International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".

 

"We value the role of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" in strengthening interreligious interaction and mutual respect. The group has become a tool for promoting constructive dialogue between representatives of different states," the speaker emphasized.


The work of the GSV promotes establishing respectful relations and understanding between Russia and the countries of the OIC, intercultural and interreligious dialogue and harmony. In this context, the GSV "Russia - Islamic world" plays a leading role. Diversity is not only a rule of nature, but also allows building this world jointly, to develop it and meet the goals of sustainable development.


"I am convinced that Allah is merciful and gives people every opportunity to develop, enjoy life, make this world better <...> In these difficult times, when we face new challenges, it is important to build dialogue, cooperate and work together to achieve common goals and objectives," stressed the deputy OIC secretary-general.
