Today, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov received Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia Mehdi Sanaei to mark the end of his ambassadorship.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during the conversation the officials discussed the current issues concerning regional affairs, including the developments in Syria. At the same time, Moscow and Tehran reaffirmed their readiness to further coordinate joint efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East, including within the Astana process aimed at a Syrian settlement.
