Moscow hosted a meeting between the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov and the Ambassador of Palestine to the Russian Federation Abdel Hafiz Nofal.
As noted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, a meeting was held at the request of the Palestinian side.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed a sharp aggravation of the situation around the Gaza Strip in the last few days.
This, as the parties noted, is fraught with a relapse into violent confrontation between Israelis and Palestinians with serious destruction and civilian casualties, and therefore Bogdanov and Nofal noted the need to refrain from aggressive rhetoric and take all measures to prevent further conflict escalation.
