A series of Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory has left dozens of civilians and military personnel wounded, according to the Foreign Ministry of Syria’s transitional government.
"Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on five areas within 30 minutes, resulting in the near-total destruction of Hama’s military airfield and injuring dozens of civilians and soldiers," the ministry stated.
The statement condemned the attacks as a "blatant violation of international law and Syrian sovereignty," accusing Israel of attempting to further destabilize the country. The ministry called on the international community to take a firm stance and pressure Israel to halt its aggression, adhere to international law, and comply with the 1974 disengagement agreement between Israel and Syria.
On Wednesday, Israeli fighter jets struck military airfields in Hama and Homs provinces, central Syria. The attacks included over 20 airstrikes, with most targeting a former airbase near the city of Hama, about 220 km from Damascus.
Israeli forces also launched an air raid on T4 airbase, located near Palmyra (240 km from Damascus). In the Syrian capital, an Israeli airstrike hit a military facility in the Masakin-Berzi district, which was previously under the control of the former Syrian army.
