Egypt and Israel agree to intensify Middle East peace process

Egypt and Israel have agreed to make efforts to intensify the peace process in the Middle East. This was announced on Sunday by the office of the Egyptian head of state following a telephone conversation between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.


"There was an exchange of views on the situation on the Palestinian-Israeli track," an official spokesman for Bassem Rada said. - It was decided to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings involving Egypt, Israel and the head of Palestine in the coming period in order to intensify peace negotiations."


Egypt, the report said, "will continue efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution and UN resolutions." He also pointed to the need to assist the Palestinian Authority in all areas, especially economic.


In addition, during the talk, Lapid promised that Israel would conduct a "full and transparent investigation" into the information that appeared in the Israeli media about the mass graves of Egyptian soldiers who died in the 1967 war and were buried in Jerusalem.
