24 November 2023

Egypt plans to provide 130,000 liters of diesel and four truckloads of gasoline to the Gaza Strip daily, following the implementation of a humanitarian truce between Israel and Hamas on Friday morning. Diaa Rashwan, Chairman of Egypt's State Information Service, announced this, adding that an additional 200 trucks would deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza each day.

On November 22, Hamas reported reaching a four-day humanitarian truce agreement with Israel, mediated by Egypt and Qatar. The deal involves releasing 50 women, children, and teenagers under 19 from the Gaza enclave in exchange for the release of 150 women, children, and teenagers under 19 from Israeli prisons.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari, in a press conference in Doha on November 23, broadcast by Al Jazeera, stated that the humanitarian truce, starting at 08:00 Moscow time on Friday, entails a complete cessation of hostilities for four days throughout the Gaza sector. CNN cited an Israeli official confirming the release of 39 Palestinian prisoners from prisons on Friday as part of the agreement.
