Egypt's El-Arish International Airport in the northern Sinai Peninsula has received "60 cargo planes carrying 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid" for the people of the Palestinian Gaza Strip since October 12. This update was provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent Society branch in North Sinai province.
The latest information reveals that a plane from Kuwait, laden with 40 tons of cargo and two ambulances, along with a UN Children's Fund aircraft carrying 52 tons of medicines and food, landed at the airport, alongside planes from Italy and Bahrain. All incoming aid is being stored in warehouses in the town of El-Arish, where it will be prepared for delivery to the Palestinian enclave through the Rafah checkpoint.
Al-Qahera al-Ekhbariya reported that Cairo is actively engaging with various parties to facilitate the delivery of additional humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip this week.
In response to the recent escalation in the Middle East conflict, Egypt has reached out to the international community and regional organizations willing to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza. They are urged to send their assistance to Egypt's El-Arish International Airport in the Sinai Peninsula. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Israeli bombardments have disrupted the normal functioning of the border crossing, and Egypt called on Israel to cease its shelling. The hope is that the border crossing can soon return to its role as a vital humanitarian lifeline for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
