The Egyptian MFA issued a statement condemning the presence of Jewish settlers on the grounds of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This statement was posted on the official Facebook page (banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia) of the Egyptian diplomatic ministry.
"The Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemns the intrusion of a group of extremists into the Al-Aqsa Mosque," - the statement read. - "Egypt calls on the Israeli authorities to immediately cease such actions."
The statement also emphasized Egypt's call for international organizations, the United Nations, and its affiliated agencies to address their responsibilities in safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people.
Earlier, a significant number of Jewish settlers entered the grounds of the Al-Aqsa Mosque without authorization from the Muslim clergy to observe the second day of Rosh Hashanah, marking the arrival of the year 5784 on the Jewish calendar. Israeli police restricted Muslim access to the Temple Mount due to concerns about potential clashes between settlers and Arabs.
