Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has issued an order to create special camps in the western region of Egypt to provide shelter for Libyans who have been displaced due to the heavy rains and flooding in northeastern Libya. This humanitarian response aims to support those affected by the natural disaster in Libya.
"The President has directed the establishment of camps in the Western Military Region to provide shelter for our Libyan brothers and sisters who have endured the hardship of the disaster, losing their homes to heavy rains and flooding," spokesperson for the Egyptian president Ahmed Fahmy announced.
Furthermore, the Egyptian presidential spokesperson mentioned that el-Sisi "ordered the preparation of the Mistral warship to function as a field hospital to aid the victims" in northeastern Libya. He emphasized that the president has requested all Egyptian units and services heading to the neighboring country to exert their utmost efforts in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Libya.
