Embassy urged Russian tourists to leave the UAE

The Russian Embassy in the UAE urged Russian tourists to leave the country as soon as possible. As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Russian diplomatic service in Abu Dhabi, the UAE authorities have temporarily restricted the entry into the country for all foreign citizens.


"The UAE Foreign Ministry has officially notified the Embassy that, following the recommendations of the World Health Organization to curb the spread of a new coronavirus infection, since March 19, 2020, the UAE authorities have temporarily restricted the entry into the country for all foreign citizens, except for the holders of diplomatic passports and residency permit holders. This decision also applies to countries with which the UAE have international visa waiver agreements or agreements on the issuance of visas upon the arrival. Thus, from March 19,2020, entry of Russian foreign passport holders into the United Arab Emirates has been temporarily suspended (until furher notice). In this regard, we strongly recommend  Russian citizens who are in the UAE for tourist, private, business and other purposes, use the nearest flights to return to their homeland, " the Agency quotes, in particular, the message of the Embassy.


According to the latest data, 117 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the UAE, including Russian tourists.


In the world, more than 180 thousand people were infected with the coronavirus, and about 7 thousand died.
