Erdogan agrees that Russia did not decide to cut gas supplies to Europe

Turkey's leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is convinced that Russia has not made an arbitrary decision to reduce its gas supplies to Europe. He told Turkish journalists aboard his presidential plane on his way back from Croatia.

"Of course, Russia did not make such decisions arbitrarily and did not take such steps. Europe is not as comfortable and peaceful as it was supposed to be. In the current situation, fortunately, we do not have such problems yet. Russia has not used sanctions against us. I had a meeting with him (Russian President Vladimir Putin - TASS), during which we talked about the price [of gas supplied from Russia to Turkey]. If his position turns out to be positive, then the best possible prices will be provided for our people. This is our goal," NTV quoted the Turkish president as saying.
