Erdogan expressed condolences over Be-200 crash in Turkey

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his condolences over the crash of a Russian Be-200 firefighting aircraft in Turkey.


Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Be-200 crashed on landing after performing the task of extinguishing fires in Turkey near the village of Adana. It is noted that there were five Russian servicemen and three Turkish representatives on board the plane and they were pointing the fire extinguishing locations to the crew. A commission of the Russian Defense Ministry and representatives of the Russian Embassy in Ankara were sent to the crash site to clarify the reasons for the tragedy.


"I express my condolences to the relatives of the Russian and Turkish crew members of the plane killed in yesterday's crash in Kahramanmaras," Erdogan said while speaking in Istanbul. It was broadcast on his Twitter feed.
